Request Transcripts
In order to be invited for an interview, you will be required to first submit a set of unofficial transcripts via mail or fax in order that we are able to determine your eligibility. We will only contact you once you have submitted your transcripts, due to the large volume of applications.
Once you are selected to participate in the Resident Teacher Program you must submit an official transcripts from each college or university you have attended that clearly indicate the letter grades received for all coursework. Because these materials often take time to obtain, we highly recommend requesting as soon as you have been accepted into the program.
Applicants who have attended universities outside the United States must provide transcripts that have been evaluated by an International Evaluation Service. For more information on approved evaluation services, contact Monica Weaver at the (301) 780-2702.
Please request that your transcripts be sent to you in separate, sealed envelopes (don't open them; if you do, they will no longer be considered official).
Interview (if invited)
Applicants demonstrating potential will be invited for an interview. The interview will be with a group of Prince George's County Educators. Please note that not all candidates will be invited to an interview.
Wait for a Decision
Based on the strengths of your application and interview, the Prince George’s County Resident Teacher Program will decide whether or not you are right for the program. Most candidates will receive a decision within two weeks of their interview. (Note: This timeframe is often longer for applicants who graduated from a foreign college or university who need transcripts evaluated by an International Evaluation Service.)
